At some point I would have to encounter the issues of a portrait shot, so I tried it today. Found out the correct terminology for this is a quadriptych. Enjoy the shot and the food for thought...
[22/365] I've held an affinity with Black & White photography for a long time, trying to capture the mood, atmosphere and meaning of a photo in the most refined colour palette available is both difficult and rewarding - enhancing photos massively with a well implemented Black & White finish. A more recent interest had been sparked by works on Flickr collectively described as diptychs or triptychs which are several panelled works i.e. made of several photos sort of collaged together. Having merged the two skills in this piece, I hope to have captured some of the same awe which I find in others' works.
Lessons learnt include give a proper title - I was too convinced by stringing together an interesting phrase than finding a set of words that complement the photo, after a while the title even got embarrassing...Next don't splice together too many shots just for the concept. I realised that the fourth shot, the one in the bottom right corner, was unnecessary and a bad addition. So it is good to have some time looking over your own photography to see flaws.

Over the last the few months, all posts on this site have been bereft of any comments, input or criticism (constructive or not). For many bloggers, commenting is a fundamental feature allowing their audience to reply to ideas and provide their views on subjects - that regard applies to me as well. After a few hours mashing up (and improving) some old code I put forward a reasonable commenting system to complete my CMS, so I hope to enjoy your input...
[21/365] My last shot was pretty unsatisfactory so I've turned it to private on Flickr. But today I was experimenting with dyes, wooden textures, dropping and water splashes - this, from the 300 shot pool, being the one I liked most...enjoy!
[19/365] Producing a series involving smoke, flowers, mugs and brick walls - though I kind of missed the smoke in this one...enjoy!
[18/365] Another macro, I need to produce some new material soon because my garden is losing my interest, maybe I'll move onto some B&W or Portraits... anyway, enjoy for now!
